Stonesby

We are a small rural Church with just 17 members situated between Melton Mowbray and Grantham in a village with just over 60 houses.

We have weekly Sunday services and have a very good ecumenical relationship with St. Peter’s in the village. We hold various joint services throughout the year and alternate our Harvest Festival, this year being in St. Peter’s.

In September 2000, after having major refurbishment we opened our new Worship area and Community room. This was funded by various grants, donations and fundraising by the congregation and village, moving our Worship area to the smaller Sunday School Room and making the old Worship area into a Community Room with new kitchen and toilets. This is a valuable asset to the village as we have no village hall. This is now used by various groups as well as a meeting place for the Parish Council and Polling Station when we have an Election.

From March to November we have a monthly Tea and Cake afternoon on the 3rd Thursday of the month. This continues to be well supported.

We are looking forward to the joining of our Circuits and to what God has planned for us next.
